I’ve noticed 2 trends that have come head to head in shop windows this season.  Ruffles and lace materials emerged in summer 2006 and this winter we are still seeing plenty of ruffles and lace frills.  Such materials are great for adding a feminine touch to the more mannish styles, but at the moment they are being used in abundance to trim up party outfits.  The second trend in shop windows right now is the metallic trend.  We are seeing plenty of silky shiny party outfits, especially in deep gold, as a bolder brighter alternative to frills.
